Artist Notes
While we have many blackberry bushes on our property we rarely get to eat any. The competition with the starlings is particularly stiff – they love to eat the blackberries! In fact there are few birds that stay away from them (not to mention the mice) so when on a recent walk I notice many ripe blackberries on the bushes I pick as many as I can. Back in the kitchen I’m not sure what to do with all these blackberries, what a luxury! They really look beautiful in these serving pieces, such rich colors.
