Of course every season has its own appeal but is there anything better than the wealth of flowers during the late spring and early summer?  I vividly remember the excitement of seeing the first blooms just a few months ago but now they’re everywhere!  Butterflies darting over the prairie, bumblebees buzzing through the garden, I love it all.

Here, in my garden in Missouri, I try to stay true to the native flowers as much as possible.  Some benefits of “listening” to your surroundings is that native plants require less watering, are less susceptible to pests and will naturally propagate quite quickly.  Your garden will look amazing!  Here that means we have lots of coneflowers, Black-eyed Susans, and Prairie blazing star.
