In these dark days of winter the European Robin is always the first to start singing.  Early in the morning, still dark outside, you can see the glow of a new day on the horizon.  The robin accompanies the slow sunrise with his song and when it’s finally light enough to see the garden…surprise!   We received a thick blanket of snow overnight, so beautiful!

While I yearn for the first signs of spring I must admit the blanket of snow is beautiful in its own right.  Since much of their food is covered by snow the birds are relying even more on my feeders staying full.  Not to worry, I love having the flurry of activity outside my studio windows!
