Whenever possible I have fresh flowers on my desk, preferably from my own garden. It should only take me ten minutes to pick the flowers I want but usually I get sidetracked and spend a lot longer admiring everything in the garden.
The garden around my studio contains a wide variety of flowering plants and shrubs. The diversity is great because sometimes you want a small, tender bouquet while at other times you might want something big, something loud. It has happened more than once that the flowers I bring in inspire me to make a painting, I just can’t help it!
