After what seemed like a very long and cold winter, spring has arrived in my garden! I am so happy to see these beautiful crocuses blooming all over my garden, I have to paint them immediately. And right alongside the white flowers of the snowdrop, the winter aconite is blooming in bright yellow in my herb garden, it’s a feast for the eyes.
In NJ, we received nearly 3 feet of snow this month. It is melting now, in 40 degree sunshine. I know my yellow and purple crocuses are waiting to make me smile.
Goodness! Where do you live? I’m in Iowa, with mountains of icy snow waiting to melt…..some days are gray and some are sunny. But I look forward to Spring whenever it arrives!
What a lovely picture! Your talent in making the crocus so lifelike blends flawlessly into the photo. Thank you for sharing a sneak peek of spring, Marjolein!
The appearance of crocuses is a sure sign of Spring! Soon followed by tulips and daffodils. Hope springs eternal! Thank you for your lovely renderings … your paintings bring the flowers to life!
So beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
I believe she lives in England. I have seen other photos of crocus blooming there. We are probably at least a month away. Depends on the weather. We too have been having very very cold temps here in Michigan but are not into multiple days of 40s there about. Nice! Finally.
Have always loved crocuses! So nice to see in the spring on the Saskatchewan prairies here in Canada! 🇨🇦
I love your artwork and your newsletter.
Long ago you sold your own coffee mugs and I still use them.
Love them.
Happy Spring Everyone.
Beautiful sign of the season to come. The snow is almost melted here in southeast PA (Morrisville). I appreciate the beauty of a gentle snowfall but I certainly welcome the signs of spring.
