Artist Notes
Blackbirds, tits and chickadees look for insects under the fallen leaves on the ground. No, this isn’t the Ring ouzel that I painted a few weeks ago, but a partially albino blackbird.
Some people get depressed during the fall. The “falling leaf syndrome” does not bother me in the slightest. Quite the contrary! I love the tree-striptease – dropping leaves in all shades of red, yellow and brown.
A flowerpot by my window contains the remains of a few Hostas. It’s a different beauty than the splendor of summer. It’s a pattern card of fall colors.
