Artist Notes

In the center of ‘s-Hertogenbosch, a town in the south of the Netherlands, a monumental European Beech tree stands in the garden of the “Noord-brabants Museum.”

The lovely bluebells blooms at the base of the tree in May, isn’t it beautiful? A few wrens and some finches were nosing about but as soon as this mother blackbird started feeding her young there I had to paint it!
