It has been over twenty years since we moved to our current spot on the Veluwe, a forest-rich area in the center of the Netherlands. Trees that we have planted have grown tall. A walnut tree in front of my studio has grown very tall, in fact.

In wintertime its bare branches are perfect for bird-watching. In the spring the new growth is a light green with red-tinted edges, just beautiful! The deep shade in summertime makes a real difference in my room. It is always a pleasure to return here, no matter where we are coming from. The birds around the pond, the fragrances in the garden, the many trees and the peace all of it exudes!
